Pamela "Pam" Sue Jennings

March 11, 1952 — May 16, 2026

Indianapolis, Indiana

Pamela Sue Jennings (Daudy) passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2026, at home surrounded by family.

She was born in Indianapolis on March 11th, 1952, the fifth of Marion and Lucille Daudy’s nine children. That birth order was appropriate, as she became the centerpiece of her siblings in so many ways as they aged.

Pam attended George Washington High School (Indianapolis) and entered the workforce right after. She made a home in Indianapolis with the love of her life, Darrell Jennings. Together they raised her daughters, Tammy Belt (Daudy) and Paula Lillard (Dickey), as well as their oldest grandson, David Dickey.

She spent the majority of her professional life working at AES Interconnects in Avon, Indiana. There, she stood out as a model employee, hard worker, and leader among her peers; eventually becoming a supervisor. In the midst of her career, she still never missed a beat when it came to taking care of her home and her family, possessing an almost superhuman ability to do and be everything for everyone. Her door was always open, and those who knew her were never in doubt that her home was the place to find a warm meal, a compassionate ear, some good advice, or help with any and everything they needed.

Pam was a true social butterfly. She never met a stranger, as the employees and patrons of her local grocery stores and pharmacies can attest. Her warm nature and love of people extended to anyone she ever met, even if but for a few seconds as she jumped into their conversation to tell them where the coffee aisle was. She loved to travel, whether it be a day trip to a state park or across the country. She loved the mountains and the beach, boat rides and long walks, family reunions and cookouts, music and dancing. She always wanted to “go somewhere and do something.” Of her, it can never be said that she did not live this life to its fullest or fail to find joy in all the experiences it had to offer.

Over the years, she fought through illness and life events with the same strength and determination she showed in her career and homemaking, bouncing back time and time again from battles that would have been too much for most of us. Even in her final weeks and days, she faced the end with grace and unending concern that everyone she loved would be okay and taken care of.

Pam is survived by her husband Darrell; brothers Marion, John, and Jeff; sister Marylin; daughters Paula (James) and Tammy (Chris); grandchildren David (Abigail), Chelsea (Zach), Shelby (Kyle), and Joseph; 14 Great Grandchildren; and a whole community of nieces, nephews, friends, and associates who will never forget her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eddie and Ronnie, sisters Janice and Sandy, brothers and sisters in-law, parents in-law, and many other dearly loved family members and friends. She cherished their memories all the days of her life, never letting them be forgotten or overlooked, and most certainly had a joyful reunion with them as she awoke to eternity. Those of us who remain know she will help prepare a home for us there and be waiting with open arms, as she has always done for us.
