On Saturday April 13th, 2013, our precious baby boy Owen John Wick was peacefully called to Heaven. Although Owen John was taken all too soon, his short life provided a lifetime of love, inspiration, and hope to his family and countless others. His legacy and strength will forever live on in the hearts of those whom he touched.
Owen John is preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, John R. Rettig, Russell P. Hamm Sr., and Eugene L. Wick; great-grandmothers, Virginia M. Curran, Ruth A. Hamm, and Betty E. Wick; grandmother, Julie A. Wick; and uncles, David E. Wick and Paul D. Rettig; and aunt, Allison R. Rettig Owen John is survived by his mommy and daddy, Hannah and Zachery Wick; big brothers, Julian and Ethan; great-grandparents Carol A. Rettig and Philip E. Curran (Kathy); Papaws Jim Rettig, Tim Wick, Dave Kouns, Jeff Oppenheimer; Grandmas Theresa Rettig, Joyce Wick, and Brenda Hilscher; uncles, Josh Wick (aunt, Kristin), and Mitch Hilscher; aunts, Erin "Nanny" Rettig (uncle, Tyler Worman), Jennifer Johnson (uncle, Matt), Kristy Baker (uncle, Dale), and Amanda Biagini; cousins Corrina, Davina, Taylor, Case, Connor, Drew, Timmy, Avery, Jarret, Matthew, Brody, and Brady "Bradzilla".
Services will be on Wednesday, April 17 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, with calling from 11 AM until service time. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Owen's family would like to thank the family, friends, and countless others who have supported them through this amazing and beautiful journey. Memorial contributions may be made to Owen's fund, supporting families of children born with congenital birth defects or Riley Hospital for Children in Owen's name, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
