Otto Komocsar

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Otto Paul Komocsar. Otto passed on December 22, 2023, in Indianapolis IN after a short illness. He passed away in peace surrounded by his 4 children and eldest grandchild (Nicole).

Otto was born in East Chicago, IN in 1934 and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1962. He worked for NIPSCO for 37 years, retiring as a Customer Service Supervisor in 1990.  Otto was a member of American Legion Post 369 and past member of Club Ki-Yowga (East Chicago, IN.) He was passionate about sports- loving the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and Notre Dame football and basketball.

Otto is survived by his brother Victor Guernier, children Wendy (Donald) Eickhoff, Marcy (William) Siegmund, Nicholas (Dana) Komocsar, and Karin Woerz; grandchildren Ben (Victoria) Eickhoff, John Otto and Addison Siegmund, Nicole, Kaitlyn, and William Komocsar, and Jacob Woerz, and great-grandchildren Miller and Elliot Eickhoff and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Nancy, their son Scott, his parents Elizabeth and Rudolf Komocsar, step-father Victor Guernier, sisters Margaret (Steve) Dumezich and Betty (Michael) Mindela, brothers Joseph (Dorothy) Komoscar, Rudolph (Ruth) Komacsar, sister-in-law Clarice Guernier and 2 dogs Baily and Duffy.

There will be no funeral services but a private mass and remembrance with close family.

We are so thankful for the compassionate care Otto received at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, IN.
