Ottis "Moose" Guffey, 76, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away May 17, 2014. He was born October 22, 1937 in Warrensburg, IL, but grew up in Monticello, KY. He was the son of Grady and Ora L. (Hoover) Guffey. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and retired from International Harvester after 25 years. After his retirement from IH, he worked part time for Jerry Jackson Marathon Station.
He attended 10th Street Baptist Church and he professed his faith before he was called home.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Marie (Johns) Guffey; children, Gary and Richard Hostetler and Darlene Spears (Greg) all of Indianapolis; 4 brothers, Charlie, Leonard and Jack Guffey of Monticello, KY and Roger Guffey of Lexington, KY; 2 sisters, Sara Richardson of Monticello, KY and Judy Morrow of New Palestine, IN; 6 grandchildren, Shannon, Brian, Karrie, Allen, Iva and David; and 8 great-grandchildren, Gregory, Nichole, Gwen, Ethan, Katarina, Tanya, Draven and Silas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
