Al was a 26 year-Air Force Veteran and retired in 1982 as a broadcast journalist. His duty stations in the Air Force were Fort Ben Harrison, 2 tours in Vietnam, Azores, Portugal, and Crete, Greece.
Upon retirement he worked as a TV station manager at Wright State University. Later, he entered the cable world and was a manager at Time Warner, lately becoming Bright House. He worked with Black Expo doing voiceovers (Al’s Soundmachine). He retired after 19 years.
He has been married to Barbara Moore Aldridge for 57 years and they have three children, Melissa, Mathew, and Martin (deceased). He also has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
