Oscar O Scales

Oscar O. Scales, 82, of Shelbyville, IN, passed away January 6, 2014. Oscar was born in Russell Springs, KY the son of Thomas and Sarah (Snow) Scales. He was a Baker at Kroger Bakery retiring in 1990 after more than 30 years and a member of Bakers and Confectionary Workers Local 372. Oscar was a US Army Veteran and a member of Hamilton Lodge 533 F & AM and Eastern Star Chapter 446 both in Fishers, IN. He was also a member of the North Side Baptist Church. Oscar was preceded in death by his wife Norma in 2007, daughters Melba Darlene and Debra Mae Scales. He is survived by daughters, Sandra Colvard (James) of Indianapolis and Kim Fite (Rodney) of Ingalls, IN; sons, Ronald Scales (Jackie) of Shelbyville, IN and Tony Scales (Angie) of Russell Springs, KY; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; his sister, Madeline Prather of Russell Springs, KY; half- sister, Faye Burton of Somerset, KY, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM with Masonic services, and Saturday from 11:00 AM until the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites.
