Orville “Bud” Armstrong
The moon and the stars shall miss the glow from his light; and the sun will wane from the passing of our father, Orville E. “Bud” Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong was 92 years old and passed away in his sleep while residing at Lawrence Manor Nursing Home. Bud was a lifetime resident of Indiana, growing up in Muncie, then residing in Indianapolis.
He will be welcomed to heaven by his late wife of 60 years, Mable Armstrong, who preceded him in death and lovingly remembered and missed by his three surviving daughters; Jill Armstrong, Lynn Gerl (husband Bill) and Lana Durkee (husband Joe). Bud has three grandsons: Greg Geri, Burt Gerl and Todd Overbeck and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Armstrong was a WWII Veteran, serving in the US Coast Guard- Mediterranean Theater.
He was employed by RCA for nearly 20 years and retired from Ford Motor Co. after 20 years of service.
Bud held true to the credo of the “Great Generation” , with strong family values, personal responsibility and strong character. Bud walked-the-walk and talked-the-talk. He will be missed by all who knew him.
