Orval J. 'O.J.' Mccoy

Orval J. "O.J." McCoy 77 of Indianapolis was born March 22, 1933 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2011 He was a 1951 Graduate of Ben Davis and served with the US Army 82nd. Airbourne. O.J. retired from General Motors in 1985 after 35 years, where he was an Assistant Plant Manager for 12 years. After retirement he worked for Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers for 15 years. He was a member of John Wesley Free Methodist Church, Ward Chairman for the GOP, member of the Wayne Township GOP Club and had led Mission Teams to Haiti for 20 years giving instruction for the Medical and Bible Teams. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mary McCoy and brothers, Leo McCoy and Rev. Paul McCoy. On August 15, 1953 he married Lois M. Shipley in Mars Hill Free Methodist Church, Lois survives him. Also surviving are ;daughters, Cherie (Ross) Hill, Charlene (Brian) McLane and Patsy Willingham; 5 grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Hill, Alicia Beckman, Caryn (Clint) Tomer, Samantha Willingham and Race Willingham; 2 great-grandchildren, Ryder Hill and Elliot Whiteman. Visitation will be Monday January 17, 2011 from 4-8PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Speedway., with funeral services beginning at 11AM Tuesday January 18, 2011 in John Wesley Free Methodist Church, 5900 W. 46th. with visitation 1 hour prior.
