89, Indianapolis, IN passed away March 12, 2016. He was born April 15, 1926 in Scottsville, KY, the son of Harve and Alta (Brown) Dempsey. Oris retired as a Command Sergent Major in the U S Army and as a Die Spotter from GM Truck & Bus. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church in Bowling Green KY and Mooresville Masonic Lodge # 78, Mooresville, IN. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors: children, Gary Dempsey, Pamela (Charles) Ricker and Michael (Karen) Dempsey; sister, Gwendolyn Elmore; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Novice T. Dempsey; son, Mark Dempsey; sister, Nancy Russell; 4 brothers, Harvel, William Huel, Luke and Albert Otis Dempsey. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 18th at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township 5463 Kentucky, Masonic Services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19th at the funeral center. Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery. Contributions: Alzheimer’s Foundation.
