Opal H. Turner 88, of New Palestine passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on November 1, 2013. Opal was born July 6, 1925 in Bernstadt, KY. Opal was a member of Greenfield Church of God for over 40 years. She retired from Western Electric after 26 years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Jewel (Joe) Corley, 7 grandchildren, Russell Fields II, Tamera Fields-Trout, Elecia Corley, Ryan Turner, Jamie Turner, Carletta Corley and Lana Carlyle; 9 great grandchildren, Ryan Fields, Meleah Fields, Karah Fields, Steven Fields, Zane Ragsdale, Aynslee Johnson, Emily Turner, Nolen Carlyle and Nick Carlyle; 7 great-great grandchildren, Jase Fields, Jackson Fields, Breonnah Fields, Azure Fields, Kallista Ragsdale, Keegan Ragsdale and OluSeun Akande; and 2 sisters Verda (Chester) Jones and Beulah (Jerry) Sizemore. Opal is preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Turner, parents George and Bertha (Whitson) Hubbard and 3 sons Robert, Eugene and Larry Turner. Family and friends will gather Tuesday, November 5, 2013 4-6 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN; followed by a service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN.
