Omer E. Taylor

Omer E. Taylor, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was born on December 27, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN to Omer J. and Muriel (Hubbel) Taylor. Omer served his country in the Navy and worked as a Butcher for 47 years. He was also a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Omer is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clara (Welch) Taylor; children, Patty (Danny) Leach, Michael (Vickie) Taylor, Deborah McVay, Kenny (Tina) Taylor; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ethel Cotton. Omer was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecca S. Taylor; son-in-law, John McVay. Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway, on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10am. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4 until 8pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made the American Cancer Society.
