Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Olga.

Olga Ruth (Milan) Chovanec was born in East Chicago, Indiana on December 11, 1927, to parents Joseph and Mary Milan.  She received Holy Baptism and the rite of Confirmation at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in East Chicago, Indiana.  Olga was joined together in holy matrimony to John Chovanec on November 20, 1954 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  They were blessed with 46 years of married life together before his passing.  They raised their family in Hammond, Indiana.   Olga was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Hammond, Indiana for over 50 years. Then, was a member of Advent Lutheran Church for seven years when she moved to Carmel, Indiana.

Olga’s joy in life was her family.  She is survived by daughters:  Jean (Rob) Hackman, Judy (Terry) Adlam, and Joyce (Dave) Wallace;   grandchildren:  Laura (Hackman) Moore (spouse Scott), Kristen Hackman, Lucas Adlam, Nathan Adlam and Logan Wallace;  great granddaughter: Olivia Moore.

The private family funeral service will be held at Advent Lutheran Church with Pastor James Grady officiating.  Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana on May 26, 2023 at 11am CST.
