Odis D. Byrd

Odis D. Byrd, 80 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on September 19, 2021. He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on October 24, 1940 to the late Dilmon and Mae (Hughett) Byrd. Odis was an Assembler at the Carrier Corp. Odis lived a life for the Lord. His goodness and pureness of heart was felt by all who knew him. He was faithfully devoted to the well-being and happiness of his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, listening to Bluegrass music, and spending time with his family  He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Odis is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth E. (King) Byrd, his daughter-in-law, Lori (Todd) Byrd Trinkle, his grandchildren, Emily (Gary) Byrd Summey, Katelyn Byrd, Madelyn Trinkle, Landon Trinkle, sisters, Shirley Crabtree, Wanda Byrd, his brother, Paul Byrd and a host of extended family and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Byrd, his sister, Maxine Cross, and brothers, Eugene, Venice, Kenneth  and Gary Lee Byrd. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 4:00-8:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with his service on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Indiana.
