Norman James LaFoe, Harrison, TN formerly of Zionsville, died December 31, 2017.
He was born June 10, 1922 in North Salem, IN to James Oliver and Bernice Ethel Byrum LaFoe. He served his country in the Navy during World War II and after returning home went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from Canterbury College with a degree in Biology.
Norman was a former 4H leader and Little League Coach. He retired after a long career with Shell Oil Company. He was a former member of the Zionsville American Legion Post 79 and New Hope Christian Church in Whitestown.
He is survived by his children Carol L. Sturm (Ray) and Bruce LaFoe (Gaye); grandchildren David Crews (Jamie), Matthew Crews, Michael Crews, Jonathan LaFoe (Katy), Bethany Adams (Eric), Christina Sturm, Tracey Owens (Dan), and Niki McClure (Mike); and great-grandchildren Sam Crews, Riley Muhlenkamp, Taylor Blowers, Samantha Scrogham, Molly McClure, Jorgen McClure, and James LaFoe. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Jones LaFoe in 2007 and his brother Maurice LaFoe.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7 from 1 to 4 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St, Zionsville. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 8 at New Hope Christian Church, 5780 S. Main St, Whitestown. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery.
