Norman E. Kirkham was born on June 12, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ruby Kirkham and Howard Kirkham. Norman passed away on July 7, 2023, in Bradenton, FL. Norman was raised in Indianapolis and attended Howe High School. Norman was an avid musician and became a professional accordion player as a teenager. He met Frances Caldwell in 1955. They were married in 1956. They had three children over the next 4 years. He was employed at Citizens Gas in Indianapolis for many years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed buying and selling cars, sports, and music. Norman will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor. He loved discussing music, politics, sports, family, and stories from the past. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Ruby and Howard, and his brother Richard. His loving wife of 67 years, Frances, passed away just three days after him. He is survived by his son Jeff Kirkham (Tina), daughter Cindy Floore (Tyler), daughter Sherry Hersberger (Brian); granddaughters, Jenny, Jessi (Nick), Kori (Cody), Lauren (Cole), Tyann (Paul), Zackary, Lyndsey, Leslie (Cody); and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norman’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
