Norma Priest Kennett

Norma Elaine Priest Kennett 86, of Indianapolis, passed February 6, 2011. She was born September 22, 1924 in Portland, IN, the daughter of the late Eber Jared and Jesteene (Gross) Priest. She was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church. Norma attended Taylor University, and graduated from the University of Michigan as an RN. She was a graduate of Indiana University, where she received her Bachelor's in Nursing (1959). Also, she received her Master's in Education from Butler University (1975). She worked as a public health nurse for the Marion County Health Department. She taught in the School of Nursing at the University of Indianapolis and worked as a Registered Nurse at Community Hospital East. Norma is survived by her children, Rebecca (Mark) Holm, Nathan Kennett, Stephen (Elana) Kennett and Mary A. Kennett (Janet Stackpole); her siblings include,Char Priest, Virginia Sutherland, Glenn Priest, Hugh Priest, David Priest, Diane Jackson; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Holm; friend, Paul Kennett. Memorial calling will be from Noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 in Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park East. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Associa-tion or to the Old Bethel United Methodist Church "Project Kids."
