Norma Lee Wade

Age 73, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away just before 3pm on March 21, 2016, in her home and peacefully. She was surrounded by family and loved ones as she began her journey into her next life. Norma fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past nine months, and while she lost that battle, she never lost her strength, spirt or love for life and family.
Norma was born in Somerset, KY on November 21, 1942 to parents, John E. and Elsie E. (Johnson) LaFavers. Norma retired from St. Francis Hospital, where she worked as a Registered Nurse in the operating room for 32 years. Norma attended Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting (watercolors), the arts, traveling, and especially supporting her family in all they were involved in.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie and her first husband, John C. Wade. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Kenneth Buckley; children: John C. Wade, Elizabeth L. Brown, Donna Thomas, Tricia Buckley and Kenny Buckley; grandchildren: Brigette, Brianna and Bethany Brown, Jack and Jeorge Wade, Emily and Logan Johnson, Ronnie and Katie Thomas and Mia Buckley; and her siblings: Donald, Carl Eugene, Dois, Lois, Geraldine, David and Venus.
Calling will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Our Lady of the Greenwood, 335 South Meridian Street, Greenwood, IN, where additional calling will be held from 10am until the mass time. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
