Norma Jeanne Covy

January 13, 1931 — May 5, 2015

Norma Jeanne Covy On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, the Lord swept away Norma "Jeanne" Lich Covy, the beloved matriarch of our family, to heaven. We are blessed beyond words that she lived a long and happy 84 years as a devoted follower of Jesus. Born January 13, 1931, she was preceded in death by her devoted parents, William and Mary Katherine Lich and her loving husband of 35 years, Charles Covy. Our only consolation in the loss of this beautiful woman is knowing that she is home in glory, reunited and once again holding them in her arms at this very moment. While living in Indianapolis, she and her husband were members of Greenwood Presbyterian Church where she also served as a deacon. Jeanne graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1949. She worked for the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Indianapolis until she retired in 1993. She enjoyed her final days watching the sun set over the beautiful mountains in Tucson, Arizona surrounded and cared for by her brother and sister-in-law William and Carol Lich. She also left behind her brother Ronald Lich of Spencer, Indiana. A mother's greatest love is the love for her children. She leaves behind her three sons, Donald D. Peek Jr. (Linda), Kevin D. Peek (Shari) and Timothy M. Peek, that she spent a lifetime caring, nurturing and guiding along a path of righteousness. Jeanne had no greater joy in her life than her 10 grandchildren, all of which adored her greatly. She will be dearly missed by Sara Spencer and her husband Tommy, Emily Peek, Heide Inman and her husband Sam, Trey Peek and his wife Sarah, Erin Jones and her husband Ryan, Tracy Dayhuff and her husband Mark, Devin Peek, Savannah Peek, Elizabeth Peek, and Kevin Peek. Jeanne also had the honor of being present whenever possible in the lives of her 12 great grandchildren, Thomas, Noah, Jake, Harley, Grahm, Conner, Asher, Jaxson, Kalli, Aubrey, Bentley, and Blake. She left us having great joy knowing that one more great grandchild would be born into our family this year. We will be honoring the life of Jeanne Covy on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Friends may call from 4-7pm with the Memorial Service to follow at 7:30pm at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Flanner and Buchanan Entombment will be at 9am on Friday, June 26, 2015 in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46142.
