Norma Jean Rutland, was the only child of David Rutland and Louise League Patton, born August 3, 1939 in Smithville, TN. After moving to Indianapolis, IN, Norma attended Indianapolis Public School #42 and Crispus Attucks High School. While attending Crispus Attucks, Norma was an active participate on the track team and the swim team. She was a self-starter.
Norma professed her faith in Christ and serve as a member of Northside New Era Baptist Church, College Ave. Church of Christ and Westlake Church of Christ. She enjoyed working with the youth.
On July 26, 1968 Norma joined in marriage to Charles Wallace Casky. Norma was a great influence of leadership for her children. Her work ethics encourage us to be better people and earn our way in life. Norma was employee at Eli Lilly for 9 years. Afterwards, she was employed at IU Hospital Research Center working as a Dietitian Assistance until her retirement March 29, 2002.
Smart, talented and creative. She loved to work jigsaw puzzles and play a good game of solitaire. Norma love to creative her own images especially during Christmas time making handmade decorations for her home. You never left her presence without a smile on your face or laughter in your heart. She just made people feel good about life!
Norma Jean Casky was preceded in death by Son: Gary L Graham, Mother: Louise Patton, Brother: Samuel R. Bass, Aunt: Lucille Demmings, Aunt: Robbie Dean Fisher, Former Husband: Charles Wallace Casky.
She is survived by Daughters: Tammy R. Williams (Steven Sr.), Toni C. Johnson (Anthony M.), Son: Michael W. Graham, Grandchildren: Sharon Sanders, Myron Williams, Hope Williams, Angelo Johnson, Anthony J. Johnson (Jessica), Amanda Jean Johnson, Jasmine Graham, Latricia Graham, Katrina Tinch (Jesse), Step-Grandson Steven Williams Jr. (Ebony), Great-Grandchildren: Steven Williams III, Josiah Clarke, Theo Johnson, and a host of family and friends.
