Norma Jean Sears, age 77, of Plainfield, Indiana died on September 30, 2010. She was born on June 23, 1933 to Charles and Thelma (Bartley) Hamm in Putnam County, Indiana. She worked in the plumbing and heating business for over 30 years, 16 of which were spent as a Sales and Purchasing Agent for Mutual Pipe and Supply Company in Indianapolis. She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Kenneth Hamm and her husband, Robert H. Sears. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Sears (Plainfield) and Diana (David) McKowen (Plainfield), stepson, Bob (Marva) Sears ( Andover, Minnesota), and Sue (Lenard) Disney (Indianapolis), two granddaughters, Jennifer (Adam) Gray ( Avon), and Julie McKowen (Plainfield), a great-grandson, Isaiah Gray, and another great grandchild due in March, and 7 step-grandchildren, and her lifelong friend, Patricia Pell (Danville).
Visitation for Mrs. Sears will be Monday, October 4 from 4-8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.
