Nora Eugene (Ford) Dye
We watched as our dear, sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed over to the waiting arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 20, 2012.
Mom will always be remembered for her smile, youthful laughter and carefree attitude that was so infectious to everyone around her. She lived a very full life until her passing at the age of 78. She was formerly of Tompkinsville, Kentucky and was born March 24, 1934 to Willie and Clara (Turner) Ford. The loves of her life were her late husband Don, sons, Mark (Terry), Greg (Helen), Chris (Laura), Doug (Barbie); daughters Vanessa Collins (Darrell), Donna Allen; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mom also cherished many fond memories of her large family of siblings; 4 of which have preceded her in death and she is still survived by 8 sisters and 1 brother.
Mom retired in 1986 as an assembly line technician of Western Electric but if you were to ask her about her "job", it was playing Bingo where she enjoyed the company of many dear friends and acquaintances. During her retirement years, she and Don were avid fans of all her grandchildren's sporting events and could always be heard above everyone else. Towards her twilight years, she enjoyed the simple things in life…peaceful surroundings of nature, car rides through the countryside and being in the presence of her family and loved ones.
