Noelia Smith (née Lebrón Crúz), 73, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. She was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on December 28, 1948, to the late Jose Luis Lebrón and Gloria Maria Crúz.
She served a total of 12 years in the U.S. Army as an Administrative Assistant and later on as a Recruiter. She spent basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and trained in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, Fort McClellan, Alabama, and Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
She enjoyed traveling, among her favorite places to visit were Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, and San Francisco. She was known for her love and talent for sewing, something she enjoyed up until her last months of life. She will be remembered as a kind friend, loving mother, grandmother, and caring sister and aunt.
Noelia is survived by her daughter, Frances Rivera; son-in-law, Nathan Vedder; grandchildren Gloriany and Jorge, sister Diana, her nieces, and nephews, and her favorite doggie, Belle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jose Luis Lebrón, Gloria Maria Crúz, her brother Reynaldo Lebrón Crúz, and husband, Desmond George Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Geist, 7855 Cork Rd. Indianapolis. A Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 10am at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN 46037.
