Niles C. Daggy, 72 of Fishers, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Niles was born February 23, 1942 in Lebanon, IN. He grew up in both Indianapolis and Cicero, graduating from Broad Ripple High School. Niles was a graduate of Indiana Central College and received his Master's degree from Indiana University. Niles married Patricia Princell on August 28, 1965 and they had two sons, Paul and Aaron Daggy.
Niles was a special education teacher in the Indianapolis Public Schools from 1966 to 1969. He then was employed as a Special Education Consultant for the State of Indiana from 1969 to 1975. Niles was the Director of Special Education for the Warren Township Schools from 1975 to 2002. He later worked for the Indianapolis Public Schools as a school psychologist retiring again in 2012.
Niles was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his time sail boating and was a member of the Indianapolis Sailing Club. He especially enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan and time spent fishing with his family on Lac La Croix in Ontario, Canada.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, August 25 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, where family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service.
Niles will be sadly missed. He is survived by his sons, Aaron T. (wife, Bridgett) and Paul G. (wife, Meg) Daggy; grandchildren, Eli Daggy, Peyton and Finn Daggy; mother, Virginia P. Greathouse; brothers, Emil (wife, Judy) Daggy, Jon (wife, Carol) and Brian Greathouse; many special nephews and nieces; former wife, Patricia Daggy. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer E. Daggy and stepfather, Roy Greathouse.
