Nicole Robbins Merritt

Nikole S. Robbins Merritt Nikole died suddenly in her home, June 30, 2014, in Wellington, Florida. Born in Indianapolis in 1969, Nikole also resided through her Schooling and Work in Chicago, Illinois, Arizona, Ohio, California, Georgia and most recently Florida. Nikole graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and English from Arizona State University. She did graduate work at Ohio State in Animal Sciences programs. She was subsequently chosen for a graduate training program in Horse Training by the Monty Roberts Organization (The Horse Whisperer). Although care and training of horses was not her chosen occupation, she continued throughout her life to teach, train, ride as a hobby. Her love of all animals was a big focus in her life. She worked in several positions involving care and training of animals. She was described by many as "truly gifted with animals". This love was surpassed only by her love as a Mother. Other endeavors included teaching at a Junior College and the Arts. She loved the creativity of writing, drawing and music. Nikole and daughter attended Temple Beth Tora in Wellington, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Robbins; grandparents, Orville and Virginia Young, Vance and Gladys Robbins; aunts and uncle, Paul Young, Cheryl Young and Linda Byers. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Katherine Merritt; mother, Dona Robbins-Cohen; step father, Howard Cohen; Step brothers, Jason (Jeanette) Cohen and Michael (Meaghan) Cohen; Nephews, Keller, Ryder, Landon and Parker; aunts and uncles, Debbie (Kim) Dahlstrand, Diane (John) Knipe, Jill (Bruce Devine) Robbins, Ron (Sylvia) Robbins, Joe (Nancy) Robbins and Bob (Vicki) Robbins; cousins, Nicholas (Ashley) Dahlstrand and children, Maia and Evan Dahlstrand, Bryan (Denise) Young and Tim Young; half-sister, Sherry (Chris) Frawley; half-brother, James Robbins; extended family, Danny Merritt, Laura Glenn, Mary Merritt, Violet Merritt, Sophie Fernandes, Kiran Fernandes and Cyrus Merritt. Services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 1 pm with calling one hour prior in Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220. Graveside services will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens. Nicole left this earth too soon. She is loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
