Nickai J. Scarbrough

November 25, 1983 — October 29, 2012

Nickai J. Scarbrough, 28, of Indianapolis, IN sadly passed away on October 29, 2012.

Born in Tacoma, WA, but for the most part being a military family grew up in Germany where he would become proficient in German, English and Slovene. At the age of 18, in 2001 Nickai decided to move to the states where he would soon meet his dear and best friend Brandi and they would become inseparable. Soon thereafter, Nickai would meet and marry Stephanie and they would bring into this world their beautiful daughter Isabella. He was always so excited and wanted so much out of life. His love of music, reading, traveling, cooking, and making friends wherever he went was a part of who he was, but most of all he just wanted to be a part of family. Of that family, Nickai and Mae, his Stepmom were very close and would often confine in her. He once asked her “How do you keep from getting lonely” because his dad was deployed for so long, and she softly replied “With love trust & understanding” and he was happy with that.

Nickai loved life, with everything it had to offer, the good and the bad. He had a corky sense of humor, a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh that just seem to fill the room. He was a straight forward person, whether you met him once or knew him for years he made a lasting impression. Many may not have liked what he had to say, but everyone loved his honesty. Nickai was very talented and accomplished so much for the short time he was here, but life could not keep up with him. He was confident in everything he did, a self-taught guitar player where he would spend most of his free time playing and singing to his daughter.

Nickai is survived by his Dad, Jerry Scarbrough, Mother Swena Stingl, his brother & sister Tonnee, Adrijanna, Malcolm & Denise, along with his beautiful 2 year old daughter Isabella and adored by countless friends & family that loved him dearly. May our God keep & hold him tight in his arms until we see each other again.
