Nellie Phillips

Nellie J. (Goll) Phillips, 86, Indianapolis, passed away on February 5, 2011. She was born on October 10, 1924 to John A. and Nellie (Thomas) Goll. Nellie graduated from Shortridge High School in 1942 and attended DePauw and Butler Universities as a music major. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She worked for Phillips-Willey Associates for 20 years and was a member of North United Methodist Church for 76 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George A. Phillips, her parents, and her brothers John N. and Frank T. Goll. She is survived by her children: Robert (Stephanie) Phillips, Deborah (Harold) Tyner, Thomas (Lisa) Phillips, Judith (Janet Gurney) Phillips and Timothy Phillips; her grandchildren: Kimberly (Robert) Rhykerd, Tamara (Donald) Buchanan, Jason (Sharon) Tyner, Matthew Tyner, Chad Tyner, Justin (Sarah) Tyner and Catherine Phillips-Gurney; and her great-grandchildren: John, Joseph and Jessie Rhykerd and Donald Frank Buchanan IV. Visitation will be Thursday, February 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Broad Ripple. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11 at North United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family and refreshments will immediately follow in the parlor.
