Nellie Lutes

Nellie E. Lutes 102, Indianapolis, passed away on October 29, 2013. She was born to the late James and Laura (Dunn) Branson on April 6, 1911 in Keokuk, IA. She worked for LS Ayers and retired in 1976. She was an active member of St. Edwards the Confessor Anglican Catholic Church, and enjoyed gardening. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, sewing, and was an avid reader. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rufo Lutes; sisters, Dorothy, Eva, Georgia and Mabel; and one brother, James daughter, Jean Pearcey; granddaughter, Margot Pearcey; and grandson, David Ashlock. She will be lovingly missed by her daughters Joyce (Richard) Mote, Connie (Ewell) Ashlock of Shreveport, LA; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Friday November 1, 2013 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, with burial taking place at Lincoln Memory Gardens.You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story.
