Nelda Farrar, 71, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on October 19th, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1953, in Evansville, Indiana, to Myrl and Helen Cooper.
Nelda was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Pete Farrar Sr., with whom she shared 46 cherished years.
She is survived by her son, Pete Farrar (Jennifer), two grandchildren Leo and Lydia, and her daughter, Christina Alexander (Brandon), who will forever carry her love and spirit in their hearts.
Nelda’s gentle nature, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her. She grew up in Oklahoma and Texas but made her way back to Indiana after high school where, after meeting Pete, she was destined to stay. She was a dedicated IT professional at the Heritage Group where she worked for 39 years. She was proud to achieved her bachelor’s from IUPUI. Nelda spent many days at racetracks, baseball diamonds, and more to cheer on family.
Funeral visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Floral Park on Wednesday October 29th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Graveside service and burial to follow at Floral Park cemetery at 1:30 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life.
Flowers can be sent for the visitation or in lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to American Cancer Society.
