N'Dri Omerine N'Gbesso-Ninon Omerine N'Gbesso-Ninon was born on September 8, 1949 in Bingerville, Côte d'Ivoire to Albert N'Gbesso N'Gbesso and N'Gorie Claire Bouadi. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Madeleine M'Besso, and her daughter, Adjoua Corinne Isabelle Erica. She passed away peacefully on June 5, 2013 in Indianapolis, IN. A loving mother and a faithful friend, Omerine is survived by her three children, Ginette Affoue Ninon, Franck H. Ninon, and Ahebe Sonia Ninon (USA). She is also survived by two sisters, Clementine Achi (Bordeaux, France) and Yvonne N'Guessan (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire), numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire and Bordeaux, France), and friends (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, Tunis, Tunisia, and Dayton/Springboro, Ohio, USA). Omerine worked at the African Development Bank in Côte d'Ivoire and Tunisia before retiring in 2007. Omerine loved the Lord, her family and people in general. From a very young age, she became really involved in her Church community. She served as a Bible study leader, a coordinator for the Young Catholic students (Jeunesse Etudiante Catholique), and sang in her Church choir. She was a faithful, loving, kind, and generous person. She was a wise woman who mentored the youth of her parish and neighborhood. In addition, she opened her heart and home to countless priests and religious sisters, relatives as well as non-family members. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, entertaining, reading, traveling, singing and listening to music. A few of her favorite singers included Nana Mouskouri, Julio Iglesias, and Joe Dassin. She would frequently read the Bible, from cover to cover, and discuss it with her children, mentees, and friends. She also loved listening to and singing Catholic hymns and Gregorian chants. Omerine was a woman of God and her family is comforted in knowing that she is now in heaven with Jesus and with those who passed before her. She was 63 years old. A viewing for Omerine will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church, 6131 N. Michigan Road, in Indianapolis on Friday, June 14 from 12 pm to 1 pm. The funeral mass will be conducted at the same location at 1 pm. You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story.
