Nathan M. Otolski, 26, of Indianapolis passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2022. Nathan was born in Louisville, KY, to parents Gregory A. and Karen Merk Otolski. He graduated from Bishop Chatard High School, class of 2014, and went on to attend Xavier University and IUPUI, graduating from Purdue with a bachelor’s degree in organizational management.
At the time of his passing, Nathan worked as Community Outreach Manager for Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana. Prior to that, he worked for Holy Family Shelter, an agency of Catholic Charities. Nathan was active in the Indianapolis recovery community, where he supported and was supported by many other young people in recovery and was deeply loved. He volunteered with the Indy Hunger Network and IUPUI Students in Recovery and was a youth volunteer for Fairbanks Treatment Center.
Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert J. Merk, and paternal grandfather, Clem T. Otolski, and an uncle, George Otwinowski.
He is survived by his loving parents, Greg and Karen Otolski; sisters Katharine and Claire Otolski; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Merk of Cincinnati, OH; paternal grandmother, Patricia Otolski of LaPorte, IN; loving partner, Francie Wilcox; aunts and uncles: Robert Merk, of Chicago, Greg Merk (JoAnn) of Cincinnati, Steve Merk of St. Louis, MO, Brian Otolski (Mary) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Mike Otolski, Steve Otolski (Barb), Michelle Otwinowski (Max Miller) and Tom Otolski (Maria), all of LaPorte IN; and many beloved cousins, great-aunts/uncles and other family members, dear co-workers and wonderful friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E. 56th St, Indianapolis, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until Mass time. Burial will be private at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
