Naomi Marie (Thomas) Allen, age 80 of most recently West Lafayette, formerly of Martinsville, passed away on Thursday night, July 3, 2025.
Naomi was born on November 18, 1944 in Indianapolis, a daughter of John Wylie and Flossie Ellen (Muncy) Thomas. Naomi was one of seven children. She is survived by one brother: Melvin Thomas of Indianapolis.
Five siblings have preceded her in death: Donald Thomas, Dolores Schrader, Michael Thomas, Rhonda Kinnett, and John Thomas.
She married Robert Allen on October 21, 1961 in Indianapolis. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years: Robert Allen of West Lafayette.
Naomi is the loving mother of two daughters: Kimberly (husband Cliff) White and Traci (husband John) Pia – all of West Lafayette.
She is the special grandmother to three grandchildren: Corey (wife Heather) White of Albany, Wisconsin, Christopher White of West Lafayette, and Brandy Henson of Martinsville.
She is the loving great grandmother to four special great grandsons: Gabriel, Alex, Calvin, and Christian.
Naomi grew up Indianapolis on the Southwest side. She attended Decatur Central High School.
She married Robert Allen in 1961. Shortly after their marriage they welcomed their first daughter Kimberly. Just a year and six weeks later, they welcomed their second daughter Traci.
Naomi greatly enjoyed driving a school bus for Decatur Central Township for many years.
Later Naomi and Robert owned and operated a restaurant called B and K drive in, which was located on the Southwest side near Kentucky Avenue and Marshill Street. They had many great years owning and operating this place.
Naomi loved interior decorating, flowers and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Most importantly Naomi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township Funeral Center, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
