Nancy Jean Stillabower

Nancy Jean Stillabower, age 83, of Marion County, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, James F. and Jean M. (Pyle) McLaughlin, her sister, Janet Marie Morris, and her beloved husband, Donald Tharrel Stillabower. Nancy Is survived by her brother, James D. McLaughlin, her nieces, Beth Miller, Amy McLaughlin, Kris Kriskovich, her nephew, Scott Morris, and her stepdaughter, Karyn Cummins, as well as many friends. She will be dearly missed! Nancy was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, though after becoming of legal age, she spent time working at a doctor’s office and purchased property in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Many of the patients she served were injured in the rodeos. In 1982 Nancy returned to Indianapolis and sought employment in a doctor’s office in downtown Indianapolis. It was at this time Nancy joined Chapel Rock Christian Church. It was then she met the love of her life, Donald Tharrel Stillabower, who was a deacon of Chapel Rock. Love “blossomed” and she married Don on February 14, 1986. Nancy and Don served many years in the shepherding ministry and the clothing ministry at chapel Rock. But then, the “open road” called them, and Nancy and Don spent 20 years of RV retirement traveling across the country, until Don’s health had them return to Indiana. Nancy was heartbroken with Don’s passing on January 30, 2018, and she never fully recovered from that loss. Nancy had a Christian spirit and heart most of her adult life and many a charity was the recipient of her love to financially serve the Lord. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, 1:00pm -2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park with the Memorial Service there at 2:00pm.  Pastor Fred Rodkey will officiate the service.
