Nancy Jo Reed, 66, of Avon, Indiana, passed away on April 18, 2026. She was born on December 31, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Ben Reed and Louella (Stone) Reed.

Nancy had a deep connection to the natural world – finding joy in flowers, animals and a fascination with even the smallest bugs. She loved to save and preserve all the beautiful things she would find, creating unique and meaningful keepsakes. She was full of love, kindness, craziness and so much more; she had a free spirit and a gypsy soul.

Her greatest happiness was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who meant everything to her. She was so proud to be their Nana and let anyone know who would listen. She taught them to notice the small wonders around them, to love good music and always pick up a cool rock when you see it! She was unique and special in so many ways. She will leave behind a legacy of love; she will be remembered.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Basham (David); grandchildren, Cassie Jo Stanton (Dustin Utzman), Justice Gregory Stanton (Amber Tharp), Amanda Agerton (Ben), and Sommer Basham; great grandchildren, Cash Utzman, Colt Utzman, Callie Utzman, Charlee Stanton, Aliveia Agerton, Sariah Agerton, Styles Agerton, Andrew Basham and Lincoln Basham; siblings, Jack Reed, Kathy Ferguson and Ben Reed; dearest nieces Paula Barry, Kelly Sparks, Carla Cook and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, that she loved immensely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Ben and Luella Reed; siblings John Reed, Sharon Daggy, Margaret Clark, Mike Reed, Jerry Reed, and her beloved cat, Bennie.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
