Nancy E. Nunez, 85 of Westfield, passed away Tuesday, April 30 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born December 1, 1938 in LaPaz, Bolivia to the late Armando Paz Soto & Elena Pacheco de Paz.
Nancy was a registered nurse for over 60 years starting her career in La Paz, Bolivia and retired from St. Vincents Hospital in Indianapolis.
Nancy’s happiest moments were spending time with her family & friends over a meal or just a cup of coffee! She was a passionate conversationalist that evoked both tears & laughter! She enjoyed shopping, fashion (she was a Bolivian Barbie) sewing, painting & the arts! After retirement, Nancy was a member of the Hamilton County Art Association where she did well competing & showing her work! Her greatest joy was just being with her grandchildren & great children! Nancy had loving church families and devoted years with her husband to further God’s Kingdom!
As a loving member of her community, Nancy never knew a stranger! Whether at the Westfield Diner, her bank, pharmacy, Goodwill or her doctor’s offices, her presence always brought a smile!
Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, May 20 at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, Prairie Waters, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Nancy was the widow of Dario Juan Nunez. She is survived by her daughters, Juana Martin (Steve)and Elena Vaughner (Marlon); grandchildren, Jacob Clark (Kim), Joshua Clark (Sarah), Elijah Smith, Isabella Smith, Elijah Vaughner, Noah Vaughner; great grandchildren Owen, Evan, Easton, Harrison, Remington, Lincoln & Elijah Jr. Surviving sisters Lidya Paz de Blanco (Carlos) and Maria Luisa Paz de Peñaranda and several loving nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dario Juan “John” Nunez, grandmother Carmen Arze de Pacheco, Parents Armando Paz Soto & Elena Pacheco de Paz, Siblings Armando Paz Pacheco & Lourdes Paz de Saavedra & brother-in-law Mario Peñaranda.
The family would like to thank all of her doctors, nurses, office workers and ANEW Hospice for all of their loving care. She always enjoyed going to her appointments because of these amazing people!
