Nancy M. Best

Nancy M. (Helms) Best, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away May 5, 2014. She was born in Connersville, IN the daughter of Chuck and Flora Helms. She had worked for Indiana Farm Bureau as well as other area business. Nancy was an accomplished Bridge player and had taught others how to play. She and her late husband also loved to Square Dance. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Best in 2001 and her sister Rebecca McGriff. Nancy is survived by her companion of more than 12 years, Robert Towne, her sister, Kathleen Glass of Connersville; her children; Jerald W. Harker (Janet) of Avon, Gloria Hickman (Darryl) of Indianapolis, Carla Ivey (Gary) of Greenfield and Clark Harker (Sally) of Daleville; grandchildren, Brandon (Amanda) and Gina Fontanella, Rissa Hickman, Nathan Dice, Trisha Ivey, Jacob, Sarah, Gabriel and Hadassah Harker; Great-grandchildren, Jaya Fontanella, Antoine and Bryson Backus and Blake Fontanella;. Viewing will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
