Nancy Lee Mercante

Nancy Lee O'Shea Mercante, age 72, of Carmel died January 2nd, 2015 She was born May 18th, 1942 in Flushing, NY to her late mother Mary Louise Lee O'Shea. She was a lifelong New Yorker until moving to Carmel, IN in 2008. She loved the theater and the arts. She was an active volunteer and participant in the St Vincent Hospital Art Program where she expressed joy and hope through art up until her last days. Nancy is survived by her sister Mary Lee, four children; Maria L. Cottone, Joseph J. (Ellen) Mercante, James R. (Kerri) Mercante, Theresa A. Mercante, and 4 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her two brothers James O'Shea and John O'Shea. Visitation will be Thursday January 8th 3-6:30pm with a Tribute service at 6:30pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel. Funeral Mass will be held Friday January 9th at 10:30am with calling one hour prior located at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (10655 Haverstick Rd – Carmel). In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Vincent Foundation. Please designate either the Art Program or Hospice.
