Nancy Doerr

June 27, 1935 – May 17, 2016

Mom was born and raised inIndianapolis, the daughter of Tom & Laura Francis. Growing up she had alove for mischief and fun, never a dull moment.

Mom was a trail blazer too– she was one of the first female barbers in Indiana spending decades as abarber at the Green briar Barber Shop. Her love of sports and politics and history made for very interestingconversation with her clients.

Nancy loved riding horses, snow mobiles and mini bikes. When visiting California as recent as Novemberenjoyed going out to the Mojave Desert in 4-wheel drive vehicles and shooting ashot gun, carefully supervised by her grandson Alex.

She was also verypassionate about sports, especially Purdue Basketball, Indianapolis Colts, especiallyPeyton Manning.

She loved her familyfiercely, don’t mess with mama bear. Her daughters Teri & Laura Lee werethe light of her life, she would do anything she could for them.

She was very present inthe lives of her grandchildren Jonathon, Sara, Carol & Alex. She had aspecial bond with each in their own right. Jon & Sara living inIndianapolis were able to spend time with her especially as young kids.

Carol & Alex living inCalifornia were further away but made the best of every visit and phone calland would ask her for advice which she loved!

Mom loved her big crazyblended family – she was loved by all of them and she made them laugh oftenwith her antics and ageless sense of humor.

Her home & yard anddog Mitchell were a passion and hobby. Mitchell was really her best friend andstayed by her side always. Mom wascutting her own grass up until the day before she was hospitalized, neverwanting to burden anyone with household chores or yard work she wanted to do itall on her own.

She had a strong faith inGod and loved her church, Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Mom will be missed by somany family and friends, she loved to talk with everyone and to just know whatyou were up to and wished everyone well.
