Nancy J. Buchanan

Nancy J. Buchanan, 72 of Carmel, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014. Nancy was born November 1, 1941 in Angola, IN to the late Donald and Candace Green. She was self-employed as a beautician for 10 years and then as a seamstress for over 40 years. Nancy was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Valparaiso United Methodist Church and was a former leader and active participant in 4-H. Nancy was an avid gardener, enjoying both her vegetable garden and her flower garden. A service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 20 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Nancy is survived by her husband, Lee; daughters, Jana L. (husband, Stephen) Richardson and Lisa B. (husband, Michael) Mattingly; stepchildren, Geary M. (wife, Becky) Buchanan, William L. Buchanan and Kim A. (wife, Janice) Buchanan; grandchildren, Trevor, Maisie, Nicholas, Luke, Kayla, Chad, Brian, Beth, Blake, Drew and Cody; many great grandchildren; sister, Kristene (husband, Steve) Hanna; brother, Jon Green; several nieces and nephews.
