Nancy Grubb Ahlers, 93, passed on her Birthday June 17, 2021. She was born in 1928 in Minneapolis where she was involved in Jr. Swimming at the Minneapolis Athletic Club. A varsity swimmer on the Purdue University Women’s Swim Team, she participated in the 1948 Olympic Swim Trials. While at Purdue she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
As a talented athlete, she loved to golf and bowl and was a member of Highland Country Club and Woodland Country Club where she was the Women’s Club champion. She participated in many philanthropic organizations as well as Junior League. Nancy will be remembered by her many fiends as a generous, giving person with leadership qualities. She was a proud woman who carried herself with dignity. She took delight in her children and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
The widow of William E. Ahlers, she is survived by her children, Lynne Washburn Arnold and R. Scott Waddell, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who knew her as Nonnie.
