Nancy Godby

Nancy Lou (Ahlgren) Godby, age 83, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. She was with her loving husband and sons as she ascended to Heaven.

She was born on September 29, 1942 to parents Herbert and Dorothy (Hitchcock) Ahlgren in New Britain, CT. Nancy grew up in Middlefield, CT and graduated from Middlefield High School in 1960. Nancy moved to Westfield in 2002 and met her husband Dwight while they both worked at Kohls Department Store. Together they created many memories sharing a love for travel and spending time together walking and surrounding themselves with their many grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Dwight; sons Doug Knight of Westfield, Dan (Kim) Knight of Athens, AL and Michael (Michell) Knight of Winder, GA, stepchildren Kim (Carl) Libel of Peoria, IL, Robert (Sarah) Godby of Denver, CO and Sean Godby of Westfield, IN and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nancy will be remembered for her selfless love of her family and her warm and caring personality. Nancy was affectionally known as Grammy both within and outside the family. She loved the role of Grammy most of all. Nancy was an amazing quilter, and she had a gift for growing African Violets. She loved to shop and always dressed impeccably.

Nancy was an active member of Six Points Church in Sheridan until her battle with Alzheimer’s limited her participation.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Nancy’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, at 4pm at Flanner Buchanan Hamilton Memorial Park - Prairie Waters (4180 Westfield Rd. Westfield, IN 46074).  A Memorial Gathering will be held an hour prior to services starting at 3pm.
