Nancy Ellen Costin

Nancy Ellen (Boyd) Costin, age 93, passed away on September 4, 2025. She was born to Guy and Mary Boyd on 3/11/1932 in Marion, Indiana. Her family moved often, and she spent much of her youth in the Chicago area. Her brother was Max (Betty) Boyd. She graduated from DePauw University in 1954 and later received a joint master’s degree from Butler University and Christian Theological Seminary. Nancy was married in 1955 to James Costin. Her sister-in-law was Carolyn (Jack) Tucker. She resided in Indianapolis and spent her summers in Culver, IN. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James C Costin and son, Douglas T Costin. Nancy was a homemaker. She was a member of PEO and Stansfield for many years. She also volunteered as an assistant chaplain at Winona Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Matt) Tedrow and son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Costin, and two grandsons, Wade (Hanying) Costin and Chase Costin. A graveside service will be held for Nancy at Crown Hill Cemetery. Many thanks to the Clearvista Lake Health Campus staff and the Brighton Hospice staff for their loving care of Nancy.
