Nancy Balogh

March 28, 1947 — November 10, 2013

Nancy Kay Balogh, 66, Zionsville, IN. passed away on November 9, 2013, surrounded by her family in her hometown of Terre Haute, IN. Nancy was born on March 28, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL. to the late Ralph and Kathleen Greene. She spent her whole life devoted to her family, husband and friends. She graduated from Indiana State University with a Teaching and Masters Degree and was part of the Alpha Omicron Phi Sorority. Nancy spent 43 years as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at Chapel Glen Elementary in Wayne Township where she acquired friendships with colleagues who turned into family over the years. She enjoyed cooking, holidays, reading, giving her "girls" ice cream whenever they asked, and was just a shoulder to lean on to whomever needed it. Her talents were endless. She spent her last few weeks enjoying moments with her grandchildren at Disney World, Trick-or-Treating, and Grandparents Day at Brooklyn's kindergarten class. Nancy is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jeff, of South Bend, IN; her son David (Erica) Bolin of Indianapolis, IN; brothers Jerry (Rita) Greene and Don (Kimberly) Greene; her three cherished granddaughters, Brooklyn, Adalyn and Aubrey Bolin; her step-son Ryan (Mandy) Balogh, and her loving nieces and nephew, and family. Nancy was the most amazing daughter, sister, mother, wife, friend, and teacher...she will forever be missed. Regardless of however big or small, thank you so much for whatever role you played in Nancy's life. In lieu of flowers, Nancy would have wanted any donations to go to Riley Children's Hospital. http://www.rileykids.org/ Thank you.
