Nancy Ann Schneider

Nancy Ann Schneider, 84 of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011. Nancy was born November 14, 1926 in Detroit to the late Sumner and Laura Quinn Steele. She graduated from the University of Detroit with a degree in Social Work. She worked in the Detroit inner-city settlement houses, helping children recognize their potential. After moving to Indianapolis in 1953, Nancy continued her service to others through volunteer work with many organizations including Boy Scout Troop 133 Central Indiana Council, the Hoosier Capital Girl Scout Council, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Nancy was a member of St. Luke’s and St. Pius X parishes. She was a realtor and also worked at Lazarus, L.S. Ayres and SteinMart. She loved travel, analyzing the stock market, reading and playing bridge among other things. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, July 29 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel, where friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Nancy is survived by her children, Greg (wife, Ilse) Schneider, Leslie Ludeman Fogle, Charles (wife, Bonnie) Schneider; son-in-law, Andrew Fogle; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
