Myron Overpeck 'Marty' Martin

Myron O. "Marty" Martin, 80 of Indianapolis passed away on August 3, 2012. He was born August 9, 1931 in Attica, Indiana to Ulysses Carl "Bus" Martin and Maude Marie Overpeck Martin. Myron graduated from Rockville High School and Indiana State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a sergeant with the 5th Regimental Combat Team. Myron retired from State Farm Insurance in 1996. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, attending OASIS classes, genealogy research, gardening, fishing and golfing. He was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church. On August 27, 1955 he married his wife Shirley Holler Martin. Myron is survived by his loving wife; two sons, Bruce W. Martin and Steven D. (Lesley G.) Martin, grandchildren, Megan Nicole Martin-Lockhart (Brandon), Joanna Kaye Martin Boudouris (Brian), Kristin Marie Martin, and Spencer Martin, and one great grandchild who will join his family in January 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Evelyn Martin Fallowfield, and brother, Donn Phillip Martin. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis.
