Myrna J. Carmichael

Myrna J. Carmichael, age 83, of Mooresville, passed away on September 3rd, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to her parents, John Coffin Sr. and Newanna Decker.

Myrna graduated from Southport High School in 1960. Myrna was a dedicated employee for National Starch she retired after 30 years of service. She will be remembered for being a faithful member of her church and her love for her family. She enjoyed baking, reading and crocheting. Myrna was a faithful member of West Newton Worship and Youth Center.

Myrna is survived by her daughter Christy McGill; son-in-law Joe McGill; grandchildren, Tyler McGill, (wife Brittany McGill) Tristan McGill (wife Gracie McGill); greatgrandchildren, Jaxson McGill, Jocelyn McGill, Grayson McGill.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Carmichael; her father, John Coffin Sr; her stepmother, Marjorie Coffin, her mother, Newanna Decker; her stepfather, George Decker; her sisters, Helen Everts and Mary Akioka; and her brother, John Coffin Jr.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 12pm-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm held at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722. E Washington St. Indianapolis, IN, 46229. Following services Myrna will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery next to her late husband, Franklin.
