Myra Lee Johnson, 75, lifetime resident of the eastside of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022. She was born on January 21, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Garland and Doris Elizabeth (Ellis) Johnson.
In her youth Myra enjoyed dancing and performing in the beautiful costumes her mother would sew for her. She loved to go camping with her family and from a young age always appreciated the beauty of nature. Myra was an animal lover; with a cocker spaniel always at her side.
Myra worked at the Indiana State House for a brief time; but was employed for over 37 years with the Indiana BMV. She was a longtime member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. After the death of her parents, this congregation became her family and support system in Indianapolis.
Myra is survived by her cousins, Norma J. Hill and Rick Johnson; along with many extended family members, all who loved her very much.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Myra will be laid with her beloved and devoted parents in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church.
