Myra Jo Bottoms

Myra Bottoms passed away on the morning of Sunday, June 16th, 2024.

She was born in Indianapolis on March 22, 1936 to Orville and Pauline (Storks) Headley. Myra graduated from George Washington High School in 1954. She married Robert Bottoms on December 4, 1959. A woman ahead of her time, she had a full career working as a computer programer for Indiana Gear Works. In retirement she joined many clubs and societies, and became a Master Gardener. She loved working with flowers, tole painting, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by Bob, her husband of 62 years, and her great grandson, Aaron. She is survived by her brother Gary Headley, her two daughters Linda (Ron) Stoeffler and Bobbi (Jim) Petersen and her grandchildren and great grandchildren Cori (Keith), Danielle (Louis), Joel (Zoe), Erika (Lance), Alex, Alyssa, Nathan, Dominic and her great-great grandchild, Evelyn. Her life-long love of learning, her faith, and her kindness are a legacy that her family and friends will continue to cherish.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery where Myra will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert.
