Muriel F. Johnson

Muriel Palmer Johnson, 91 of Carmel, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Muriel was born July 14, 1920 in Lake Forest, IL to the late Samuel and Janie Watters Palmer. Muriel was a member and deacon at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, past president of the Carmel Band Boosters, the Carmel Women's Club, the American Cancer Society, where as a board member helped organize the South Hamilton County Unit. She was vice-president of the Carmel Newcomer's Club and was active in the scouting program in various capacities. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 21 at Second Presbyterian Church, where friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Muriel was the widow of Miles Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Craig (wife, Kathy) Johnson, Arthur (wife, Julie) Johnson and Paul (wife, Rene') Johnson; grandchildren, Thad, Kristin, Melissa, Trisha, Courtney, Christopher and Samuel; great grandchildren, Brianna, John Palmer and Will. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Rowland and Arthur Palmer, sister, Janie Runyon, niece, Beth Runyon.
