Francis C. Kermon

90, Indianapolis, Indiana passedaway December 23, 2015. Francis was born April 27, 1925 in Rocky Mount, NC toMichael Ethanian and Ada Verena (Willoughby) Kermon. He served in the US Navyfor 11 years and the US Air Force for 20 years, retiring with 31 years ofmilitary service. Naval service in WW II included numerous at sea battles inthe South Pacific Theatre. These battles included the surface and capture ofthe U-505 German Submarine and the liberation of the Philipines where his unitwas involved in the rescue and transport of the survivors of the Bataan DeathMarch. Francis was a huge Colts fan. Hewas a member of St. Timothy Episcopal Church. Survivors: wife, Katie F. (Maxey)Kermon; children, Judith Kermon (Deceased), Michael F. Kermon, Lawrence Kermon,Michael R. Kermon, Kathryn Louise Wasson, Elizabeth J. Weaver and Melanie M.Kermon; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Monday, December 28^th at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township5463 Kentucky Ave. Indianapolis.
