Mrs. Joann Niemann

Joann (Linville) Niemann, 96, Brownsburg, IN, and formerly of Speedway, IN, passed away on December 16, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

Joann graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis in 1947. After graduation, she worked at the Indiana State Board of Health and Allison Transmission.

She married Bill Niemann in 1950, and they were married for 67 years. They lived in Speedway for 45 years. While helping raise her five children, Joann worked at the Speedway Public Library, and then went to work at Wood-Mizer in Indianapolis. In 2003, Joann and Bill moved to Brownsburg, IN, where they made many good friends. They loved Happy Hours on Fridays with neighborhood friends, and she continued to do so after Bill passed away in 2018.

Joann was an avid reader, amazing seamstress, and a fantastic cook. Her cooking was always a hit at family gatherings! On TV, she rarely missed an episode of "Wheel of Fortune." Joann loved spending time with her family, and they enjoyed many big Sunday dinners together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and sisters Margie Ludlow and Lois Jean Trent. Joann is survived by her daughter Cheri, sons David, Jeff, Tim and Bill (Margaret), grandchildren Korey Niemann, Megan Niemann Havlik (Kyle), Briley Niemann, Lily Feeley, great-grandson Jordan Niemann, brother Bill Linville, and sister Susan May.

Calling will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from Noon-4 PM, at Flanner Buchanan in Speedway. Additional calling will be on Friday, January 9, from 10 AM-11AM, with the funeral at 11:00am. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, in honor of her husband Bill, and The Humane Society.
